Just heard that from end of next year any chassis on its angle will be banned. at first i thought they ment the main rails on the angles (rce) but since heard they mean the batten cars with the tilted chassis. Can anyone shed any light on this???
This is on Brisca Website about "ruel" lol changes.
The BriSCA F2 Board of Control has issued the following statement with regard to tilting chassis:-
The Board’s Technical Committee are not in favour of this type of car, where chassis tilt is achieved by the chassis, rather than on the suspension, and will be producing a statement to this effect. The existing cars will have until the end of the technical regulation moratorium in December 2009, where they will have to modified for future use.
bl**dy shame, 5 gorgeous cars that have to be cut up for scrap or have real serious work done
yea typing error lol. It is a shame because those cars look real nice. didnt see that on the brisca website. Do you also think they will change the regs about the rear axle where the axle moves by the link on the chassis?

If your a driver then your entitled to attend the agm which I believe is being held this year. They may discuss things like that so you will find out.
they didn't need to change the rules to ban these cars, the rule just needed to be enforced, its right at the start of the rule book where it says the cars should be of symetrical appearance.
Think you need to take a look at the 2008 rulebook skidders 397, the words "symetrical appearance" have been removed.
this seems to be one of the problems with our sport the rules are being changed wihout any driver input

i assume billy had them removed to suit himself. but it still said it in 07 and previous.
the trouble with driver input is there are 500 or so drivers each with there own ideas,if it was left to the drivers nothing would get decided and we would be in a worse situation than what we are in now.
lets be fair the symetrical appearance rule is pointless,
can you really tell me for instance this car which is not a batten built tilter, is legal?

Whats up with it spike? |
as far as the old symetrical rule goes this car is illegal, unless somewhere in there is states except for the wing, the bumper the airfilter and the wing mirror.
So this being the 2005 world final winning car is illegal!
as is probably about 10 or more years worth of cars before this so what a pointless rule im glad they got rid of it!
Shame we still have to loose the tilters, it was nice having something unique
