I stand corrected. i thought i saw john checking hoopers ride height on sunday and he was outta the car. Must had been something else he was doing lol.
Generally (ie, any time I've ever seen it done in over 20 years), ride height is checked with the driver out of the car, and TBH I don't know if the regs actually specify which is correct.
(There's an old trick involving a trolley jack and damper settings.)
When setting corner weights you should always have the driver in the car, it makes a big difference. For those one-man bands, get a few bags of sand to the same weight as the driver, and put this in the drivers seat.
For some drivers, letting the sandbags drive could improve their results...
