at the back, its a recognised brisca championship and so would start at the back in championship grade ( which seems to be an extension of red these days!! )

I agree the Euro is a recognised BriSCA championship Spikey, but the holder does not necessarily start at the back.

Winning the Euro does not confer superstardom, I can remember two Euro champs in fairly recent times who raced from blue - 28 Graham Bunter and 15 Steve Green.

The Euro champ will race from whatever grade his points tally merits him.

The only two championships that confer superstardom for as long as a driver holds one or other of them are the World championship and the National Points championship.

Didnt Neal Hooper win the euro as a blue roof ???. He must have raced from blue thereafter. I think the tractors have a rule that if you are a lower grade than red, on winning a major championship, u automatically become star grade. wink.gif

Interesting that some of those point came without a bonnet which would have been a straight black flag in autospeed land. Not saying which is right or wrong , just no consistency, don't remember any re-starts where the lead man waited for the green flag either. What ever the rule actually is on these things shouldn't you expect national rules in a national formula huh.gif

Technically it is final win. So if said lower grader won, they would start at the back of there upgrade

Except for the one where Goldin and one of the Grattans were watching the flag rather than the car in front and gained about eight places each as it dropped... cool.gif

Thanks Spikey, unlike the following quote which I believe is total tosh

'at the back, its a recognised brisca championship and so would start at the back in championship grade ( which seems to be an extension of red these days!! )'
I understand that some of my posts might appear well 'out of the box' but think out of your pram and you might get there, failing that I will always issue you with guidance notes biggrin.gif

Fair point but I think we had seen every other re-start dictated by the lead car, so the drivers were probably shocked to see the green actually dropped, although I think it was actually the second car that caused the hold up. No problem with it, just not how they do things in the wild west. That includes complete re-starts in the early laps also.

I agree with this, on Sunday we had the bizarre scenario where, on a restart in the final, there were still 20 laps to be raced yet four yellow tops were ahead of the solitary white. How on Earth can that possibly be right? If there's 20 laps left, the race cannot have started, so a complete restart is surely the only option?

Had me scratching my head, that's for sure.

Wildcat- 07-24-2008
It is not only the case for restarts......most people watch the whites (starter included for when to drop the green), but in the majority of cases the blues and reds are already changed up a gear and away before the lead car gets to the third bend, hence the reason why the lead white often tries to get away quickly....
