Chris Love has indeed still got that car! Chassis got quite bent at Bristol earlier in the year but he's still going to be out in it (minus the splitter tho biggrin.gif ). He's from Cardiff by the way!

Its taken 2 year's to design and build this car

Christ , my sides nearly split there, don't you mean "its taken 2 year's to copy and build this car" ? lol

Am i the only person to see a pattern emerge here?
Early bingleybuilts might aswell be higmans
the next evo of bingleys cars might aswell have had elite on them
and the new one looks like it was built by a man in a shed in somewhere near Birmingham!

Steady on chaps put it back in your trousers til something new and exiting comes out.

Hope the splitter works well for him though!

spikey167- 07-18-2008
good god, you mean... he copied what is working well in the sport... you mean... no you couldnt possibly!! DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!

may be the person in a shed in brum should copy mr Higman then his car might be able to catch Bradderz! biggrin.gif

Think its a bit harsh to give your opinion on the car when you have not even had a close look around it!

And this is coming from a lad ben who was kicked out of the so called MOODIE club because he felt he wasent valued!! huh.gif

If you all check your photo albums, you'l find that the master was the first bloke to do all the things you see on cars now days, 30 years ago.,

So in a way, what does a car builder do?, build one with old and dated tec, or look round the pits and at other drivers cars who are doing well and perfect ideas from them?

Bit of a no brainer really.

Bing will always do his own thing, and it seems to be doing fine a decade down the line.

About the only similarity between 401 car and RCE car is they both have 4 wheels!
RCE has inboard front suspension, chassis rails at 45 degress, rear end on torque arm, a wing, electric fan because of rad position, rear steer front hubs the list goes on!

May be just a sexy boy should have gone to specsavers! biggrin.gif

Just like the Trevor Whitney chassis of the 80's and 90's so who's doing the copying now ? laugh.gif tongue.gif

And every F2 out there has an element of Higgy!

My point exactly dave, what ever were seeing on the track now days is nothing new, car builders more than likley have tried everything there is to try with a stockcar, its just what suits the driver/customer.

Having never seen the car of Trevor Witney i think it is a little unfair of you to suggest that I have in some ways copied it. So Dave, who is doing the copying now?

Generally, the way i see it is this there are concepts which will always be similar on many cars because of the very nature of the type of vehicle concerned. Concept and detail however are two different things. Following a trend or concept is a natural progression and shapes the sport we are all involved with, copying detailed elements of a car and passing them off as your own is quite another. I have not seen the new car of 401 in any detail nor have any interest in doing so, in fact I would personally consider it rude of me to study it closely. My time is better spent thinking about my own issues and working with my customers. If i am not able to tune and tweek my cars through my own development and driver feedback then i might as well give up now.

Smokey...Il stick with my own design if its all the same to you...I think I still have the lap record at Skegness and until that changes il pass on your advice!
