Eric Brown F1 255 Franco, now come up with a pic of G McDougall jnr to prove I'm not going senile lol
|
Think this might be young MacDougall |
Interesting pic Tosh - that certainly looks like an old McDoog car. I see by the filename it was taken at Newtongrange which would make it pre-89?
I think Clinton McKay raced #141 by the time Racewall started but not sure if he was racing in F2 at Nitten.
Not sure if this is accurate - is Emma Mellis F2 #621 the daughter of Graham Mellis who raced F2 #136 in the early 90's?

Yes Franco she is.
And that's the number I thought GM jnr raced but I too couldn't get passed 141 being Clinton's number.
I don't actually remember seeing him race and I never missed a meeting at Racewall in the first 3 seasons, I just recalled seeing him in the Driver's List.
The Driver's List was updated very rarely at that time so its possible it was the list from '88 at Newtongrange that was still in the programme at Racewall?

I still have a stack of Racewall programmes in boxes in my loft - will need to have a rummage and report back.

Clinton was 341 for a while before he was 141. I think it was early 90,s at Cowdy he was 341.
198 Alan Nicholson & 398 Paul Nicholson
77 Tony Roots & 677 Chris Roots
This pic was taken at the 1992 WF at Skegness. Does anyone recognise the driver and can say whether or not it is McDoog Junior?

As a variation to this thread, how about coming up with F2 drivers that were unrelated but have shared the same name.
I'll start off with two:
15 Steve Green (Bedworth) & 90 Steve Green (Skipton) 451 Andy Cooper (Feniton) & 516 Andy Cooper (Skegness) |
off the top of my head, apart from ones on this thread like frank horner and frank horner jnr type conections,i cant think of any, but i can think of a couple in in the fi's stu smith 1/391 and stu smith 'randy pup' 139, willie harrison 2 and willie harrison 27 (see the first set of top trumps for that one)
