Hi all
I'm interested in getting started in F2.
Just wondered what typical meeting costs are. I know it depends on track, car etc but how much does it cost to book in per meeting and how much can i expect to pay for fuel etc.
hi gav just thought i will p en a reply to enter a race meeting is free wih a chance o pick up some prize money with op ten race positions petrol about a gallon a race and a bit extra for practice he meeting can consist of heat consolaion final grand national so perhaps 6 gallons im not in metric yet per meeting the cost of a brisca licience is about 180 but this includes the price of a transponder not so expensive for the second year the main extra costs other than car and trailor are transport cost depending where you live in he country and what tracks you are racing at
Would agree with much of what nala says, however bear in mind you are unlikely to see any prize money for a while and when you do it will probably be a fiver!
Cost is what you make it. You can do your local track, with an old car for around £50 a meeting expenses plus damage. Or you can travel hundreds of miles and only do one race. There is no hard and fast rule.
We spend easily £200 per meeting on average, only doing shale and doing our own repairs. A set of tyres cost over £160 and last no time at all.
Ideally you need a lot of time and money, but if you are committed a bit of one and a lot of the other will suffice!
You can hire a car for around £250 to see if you like it, it sounds a lot of money, but better than spending £5,000 and deciding you don't.
