I wouldn't envey the job off giving bookings out, all i can say is some drivers who missed out last year have got one this year. we all know some meetings have to be restricted. i know it seems unfair but how else can it be
Difference is Superbowl is a GMP event, UK Open is a Trackstar Event, the Euros are a BRISCA event, and when I last lookedthere wasn't an incarace stamp on it..!!
Northampton has done a good job of building the event up, but any track could if they had it 12 years straight, and 13 out of the last 16! It would be a poor show if they didnt!

Jonny, the UK Open is listed in the rule book so doesn't that make it also a Brisca event.

Not picking, or trying to belittle the UK Open because it is a great, long standing event but it isnt listed as a BOC title. Appendix G on pages 67 and 68 list them as British, European, Ben Fund, English Open, Nationals, Novice of the Year and World of Shale. The Grand National Championship is Appendix D and World Final is Appendix C.

It is a legendary trackstar title, but sadly not an official title in BOC terms, as Lively says.
The format is one of the better championship ones, rather than pick it out of the hat!

I agree Steve. And that would seem to be borne out by the fact drivers finishing in the top ten in it (the U.K. Open final) aren't awarded double grading points as they are in all BOC championships.
Maybe if there was say, an Unloaded ranking Series, the Uk Open would have special status.
At the moment I say downgrade the European!
