I think it is more a case that the Scottish drivers very rarely support this meeting in big numbers. The reason for this can probably be directed at GMP as they choose to run F2s on the Saturday of the European weekend every year.

its 2 weeks after skegness, 1 week before the scottish, and 2 weeks beofre the semi final. a bit much to ask the scottish drivers and infact the rest of the travelling drivers!

a take my hat off to those who are going up and down the country just now but a think some drivers prefer skegness weekend to the northampton and are taking the opertunity to make sure there cars are right before the big meetings start at cowdie!

girlracer688- 07-16-2008
its 1 week after skegness.

Cole Trickle- 07-17-2008
I do think they need to spread out these weekends. For those who eat pasties and drink scrumpy, unless we travel, there's a whole month between meets

h 24 is coming altough they said it in posterholt ..
And h 30 is making a dissision today if he will race or not.

Colin Cass- 07-17-2008
It would be good to see H24 & H30 over here, and when you consider there is a tarmac meeting at Lelystad on Sunday it's a good turn out from the Netherlands drivers.

I don't agree with moving the Euro champs, I think Northampton has done well to build up the Euro champs meeting. I think it's up to each promotion to make a special event, for instance would saloons move the Superbowl from Cowdy to other tracks? Northampton is also failry easy to get to from Europe, moving it away and loosing the Dutch drivers would cheapen it. You can't have a Euro champs without Euro drivers.

as for the amount of UK drivers wanting to race at the Euros, maybe some sort of qualifying is needed? something along the lines of top 60 in points are automatic then each track has qualifying event.

Yes, but to be fair to Incarace they are probably rewarding drivers who support their meetings throughout the rest of the season. There are drivers who raced at the first four Birmingham meetings in the pouring rain who are probably being rewarded, along with domestic meetings at NIR.....

Then again these same drivers may yet race in the rain this weekend too... tongue.gif

Most promotions reward the drivers who support them....Skegness, Kings Lynn, the West Country are all the same.
