I have been asked by a customer new to F2 if this gearbox is legal for use in F2. Does anyone know if it is?
I would be grateful if someone in the know could clarify this for me. Maybe a member of the tech commitee, boc, or IG could help!
Thanks in advance,
DR
i believe they have made them legal for this season, i know bert used one a couple of years back but they banned it, when i was speaking to rob batten earlier he said they had passed them legal
The gearbox hasn't just been made legal this year.
There seems to be some confusion regarding this item.
I cannot see how it can be classsed as a quick change box when it needs to be split in have to enable it to be worked on. A ratio change will be longer to do than a diff change.
The gearbox is allowed as long as it has the steel casing. Originally Elite Transmissions made it with an aluminium casing which deemed it illegal for Brisca F2s.
I will ask the Technical group about the full story regarding this gearbox and hopefully clear up any issues with another reply.
The steel version of this gearbox IS LEGAL.
